# Logging In

Use this guide when you already have a SmartAcademy user account.

## Before you start

You need your registered email address and password. Your account must be active in the school user directory.

## Step-by-step guide

1. Open SmartAcademy V2.
2. On the login page, enter your **Email Address**.
3. Enter your **Password**.
4. Select **Sign In**.
5. After successful login, SmartAcademy opens the main dashboard.

## What SmartAcademy does in the background

The backend checks your email and password, creates a secure login token, loads your user, role, organization, and branch access, and records a login audit entry.

## Common issues

- **Wrong password:** use the reset password workflow.
- **No access to a page:** your role may not include that permission.
- **Returned to login:** your session may have expired; sign in again.
