Student Fee Assignments

A student fee assignment connects a student to a fee structure for an academic year.

From Student Directory

1. Go to Students > Student Directory.
2. Select one or more students.
3. Select Assign Fees.
4. Choose fee structure and academic year.
5. Enter an optional discount.
6. Confirm the assignment.

From Fees & Finance

1. Go to Fees & Finance > Student Fee Assignments.
2. Filter by class, section, status, or search.
3. Assign or review fees from the list.

What SmartAcademy does in the background

The backend validates selected students, fee structure, academic year, and discount. It calculates principal amount, discount, final payable amount, assigned date, and initial status. It prevents duplicate assignment of the same fee structure to the same student in the same academic year.

Status meaning

• Unpaid: no payment collected yet.
• Partial: some amount paid, balance remains.
• Paid: full payable amount collected.
